Quinta Lua Azul is situated centrally between Lisbon (Lisboa) and Porto airports, both approximately 2 ½ hours by car (A1, IC8).

 Getting Here By Road

If you are driving up from Lisbon (lisboa) join the A1 toll road heading north and exit at junction 10 signed Pombal.

If you are driving down from Porto follow the signs for A1 and join the A1 heading south to Lisbon. Exit the A1 at junction 10 signed Pombal.

The A1 motorway is a toll road, you must take a ticket at the barrier. Be careful not to pass through the barrier marked Reservado a Aderentes this is for Via Verde subscribers only.

After you have exited the A1 you will be on the IC8, head towards Pombal and Castelo Branco. The IC8 will fork, take the left hand lane heading towards Castelo Branco.

Stay on the IC8 for approximately 40 minutes and exit and the Graça junction.

 Getting Here By Train

If you are arriving in Lisbon you can take a taxi from the airport to Lisboa Oriente station. You have two choices of high speed trains, the Alfa Pendular and the Intercidade.

The Alfa Pendular journey time is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes, the train stops at both Pombal and Coimbra B stations.

The Intercidade journey time is approximately 1 hour 50 minutes, the train stops at both Pombal and Coimbra B stations.

If you are arriving in Porto you can either take a taxi from the airport to Porto Campanhã station, or you can take the Metro (purple line). You have two choices of high speed trains, the Alfa Pendular and the Intercidade.

The Alfa Pendular journey time is approximately 1 hour, the train stops at both Pombal and Coimbra B stations.

The Intercidade journey time is approximately 1 hour 10 minutes, the train stops at both Pombal and Coimbra B stations.

 Car Hire

There are car hire companies in all the major cities and airports in Portugal. You are advised to reserve your car hire early to avoid dissapointment. August is a particularly busy month for car hire and it can be difficult to book a car at the last minute.

 Travel Insurance

It is recommended that you purchase appropriate travel insurance to cover your trip to Portugal. You can also order a European Health Card to cover emergency medical care in Europe from www.ehic.org.uk
