Close to the cultural city of Coimbra and equidistant from Porto and Lisboa, it is easy to explore the history and culture of Portugal. The Knights Templar castle towns of Pombal; Tomar and many others are within easy reach. Every day of the week a village market close by offers fresh local food. A daily delivery of fresh bread is also available.

Close to Quinta Lua Azul you will find Pedrógão Grande Barragem Cabril a natural lake covering an area of 55 kilometers and used locally for swimming, fishing, canoeing, jet skiing and scuba diving. The lake is bordered by pine and eucalyptus and the dam provides domestic electricity.

A short drive away you will find the town Sertã. Sertã is a large pretty town that has lots of shops, cafe bars and restaurants. In the centre of Sertã two rivers converge, there is a praia fluvial (inland river beach) and some lovely riverside cafes.

Approximately 40 minutes drive west you will find Pombal. Pombal is a small city and provides an excellent modern train service to the main Cities and to the North, South and East of Portugal. Pombal Castle sits on a hill surrounded by woodland overlooking the town below and was built originally in 1161 by Gualdim Pais, Grand Master of the Orders of Knights Templars.

Portugal's Silver Coast has beautiful beaches, traditional coastal towns and authentic food and is only a little over an hour from Quinta Lua Azul. The Silver Coast has miles of white sandy beaches, small promenades, cafe bars and restaurants and the larger seaside resort Figueira da Foz.
